Historical Site
"He came to me for safety so how can I betray him"...
On 30th April 1746 an unexpected royal guest knocked on the farmstead's door seeking shelter. Bonnie Prince Charlie
was hungry and exhausted attempting to flee capture from Hanovarian government troops
following the defeat of the Jacobites at the battle of Culloden. The farmstead owner (Donald Campbell) famously risked treason
and provided him safe refuge in his home for four nights.
